Rain chances continue…

Much of our western and Hill Country counties got some decent rain overnight with the NW part of Real County recording almost 6 inches from scattered, but intense storms. There is a chance for more scattered storms this afternoon, but we should not see near the activity as last night. As I work on this post, I’m seeing some storms forming in western Bexar County…hopefully we will see more storms as the afternoon progresses. There is a chance that any of these storms could go severe, so as always, make sure you have your weather apps and weather radio switched on for local warnings.

Our best chance for rain will come this weekend with the next frontal passage, then continue through Wednesday of next week, as the front gets overriding moisture from the SW, along with some disturbances. This has the potential to produce widespread rain for both south and south-central Texas. While not drought breaking, most models are forecasting 1/2-2 inches of rain during this time period. The CPC continues to forecast better than 50/50 odds for above normal precipitation through the rest of the month.
