Despite the clouds this morning, temperatures are warming up quickly this afternoon into the 80’s and even some 90’s. Tomorrow is likely to be warmer ahead of a fairly strong front for mid April. That front will provide the ingredients for some thunderstorms and showers on Saturday as it moves through the state. Once the front has passed we will see moisture from the SW override the cool air, giving us several days of rain chances as disturbances move in from Mexico. As of post time, the best odds for rain have changed from Saturday with the frontal passage, to Monday through Tuesday.
The latest drought update and monthly precipitation info is below. So far, much of our area is actually doing pretty well for the month, with above normal rainfall for the Hill Country and eastern counties. Unfortunately, there are still too many counties south of HWY 90 who are still struggling. The latest models are actually favoring south Texas for rain odds with this next system…fingers are crossed!
