Wow…what was supposed to be very scattered storms this afternoon, has turned into much greater coverage than the models had predicted, even this morning. That plume of tropical moisture that moved into south Texas yesterday, has sparked some decent storms over Bexar, Kendall, Frio, McMullen and Las Salle counties as of post time. Movement of the storms is NW. My rain gauge in NW Bexar County has recorded 0.37 inches in the past hour.
Enjoy the rain if it falls on your backyard this afternoon and evening because unless you live along the coast and the coastal plains, rain odds will drop to near zero starting on Sunday through next week. The models continue to look more bullish for rain as we end June and start July, but at this time, I don’t see a major rain event on the horizon.
If you win the rain lottery this afternoon, let us know how much and where!
