More scattered storms this afternoon in our western counties and in south Texas as high pressure is having a hard time taking hold over our area (I’m not complaining). Yesterday’s rain lottery winners were 0.96 inches of rain to the west of Poteet and 1.02 inches near Hebbronville.

Scattered storms will continue this week, but should be limited to the coastal plains and the coast. The 6-10 and 8-14day outlooks from the CPC still think we have better than 50/50 odds for wetter than normal conditions, but the latest model runs make me dubious of their forecast. The NHC has found a little low pressure in the Atlantic but it’s not only moving away from the USA but will move over cooler waters in the next couple of days, then going poof!

Have a great rest of your Sunday and if you happen to wind the rain lottery today, let us know how much and where!
