We will see a few more scattered PM Poppers this afternoon, before high pressure slides back over us for the weekend, through Monday. By Tuesday, the high moves to our east and sets up a SW flow aloft (moisture from the Pacific) and surface moisture from the Gulf. With a few disturbances moving though, rain odds return from Tuesday through the rest of next week. This will be another convective system, so there will be some people who see decent rain totals by the end of the week and others who see less. As has been the case this year, the highest rain totals will stay in north Texas. The good news is that we will continue to see better than 50/50 odds for above normal precipitation for another two weeks, according to the CPC.
FYI: Beginning Saturday, April 26th, the KEWX New Braunfels WSR-88D radar operated by the NOAA National Weather Service in New Braunfels, Texas will be down for approximately two days as the NEXRAD Radar Operations Center (ROC) will be on site to perform necessary scheduled maintenance. This maintenance is expected to be conducted regardless of forecast weather conditions to the region.
