Round two looks promising!
4-2-26. 2pm. This update is brought to you by Dietz Mclean Optical Company. www.dmoptical.com As a family-owned business, our independence, in house lab, great customer service and eyewear warranties, allows us to tailor your eyeglasses, lenses, and fittings: we want you to only expect the best after working with us. With six conveniently located optical shops in San Antonio, Boerne, Marble Falls and Temple, it’s easy to love what you see.Fortunately, the showers and thunderstorms ended up moving a little further south than the models had predicted, with much of the Hill Country recording a half to an inch of rain overnight. My weather station in NW San Antonio reported 0.25 inches of rainfall. As expected, those of you to the south of HWY 90 and I-10 east saw little to any rain from round one.
Round two will be very different than last night…from the NWS: “Confidence continues to grow with respect to the return of rain and cooler temperatures across South Texas this weekend. Models continue to be in good agreement with an upper trough bringing a moderate to strong cold front through the region sometime between Saturday and Sunday. With PWAT values increasing to 1.5-1.9" and favorable atmosphere dynamics, periods of moderate to heavy rain will be possible this weekend. There still is some uncertainty of exactly how much rain will fall. Current thinking is that we could see 1-2" areawide. Therefore, due to the potential of periods of heavy rain, the Weather Prediction Center has included all of South Texas in a marginal risk for excessive rainfall from Saturday morning through Sunday morning. Below normal temperatures will return to the forecast this weekend into early next week in the wake of this late season cold front.”
