I hope you enjoyed the less humid weather today because by tomorrow, the heat, humidity and the smoke will be back as our mini-cool front moves north as a warm front. A weak disturbance will be moving through south Texas over the next 24rs (storms are already firing up in the LRGV), but most of the rain will be confined to the SW border counties. If anything develops further north, most of the models are predicting very little in the way of rainfall totals.
Back to the high heat indexes from Thursday through Monday ahead of a pretty decent cool front that is due to arrive Monday afternoon. The front will spark scattered storms ahead of, along and even after the front move through, giving us a chance for rain for most of next week. Thanks to the clouds and cooler air, temperatures will moderate into the 80’s for highs and 60’s for lows after Monday.
Long range models continue to forecast good rain odds through the first week of June…let’s hope they get it right!
