I smell a pattern change!

A few of you south of San Antonio lucked into some storms this morning as the dryline moved through. Most of the totals that I have seen have been under a tenth, but since there are limited NWS remote gauges in that area, I would appreciate any rainfall totals (and your location) in the comments section!

Now that the front has passed, we are now seeing “Vegas” dry heat this afternoon with humidity readings in the teens for much of south-central Texas and in the 30’s and 40’s for most of south Texas. Enjoy the low humidity while you can because it returns by Thursday. Speaking of Thursday, a disturbance from Mexico will move through, increasing rain odds mainly over the western counties of south Texas and LRGV. Unfortunately, most of us will just see a few scattered storms and very little chance for any decent rain from this system.

By next week, it’s looking like we could see a pattern change, with a fairly decent late season front moving through on Memorial Day, giving us a good chance for some widespread rain and much milder temperatures…possibly 70’s and 80’s for highs and 60’s for lows! Not likely a drought buster, but we’ll take any rain we can get…and decent rain odds could stick around through the first week of June.
