Will San Antonio Sam see his shadow tomorrow morning?

After a cold start of the day, with most locations dropping into the 20’s, our afternoon temperatures have recovered into the 50’s and 60’s. By Tuesday, we will all be in the 70’s before a seasonal front pushes through, lowering our temperatures into the 40’s for lows and 60’s for highs through Thursday…then we are back to the 70’s again by Friday.

Rain odds continue to look bleak at least for another week! The latest CPC 8-14 day outlook continues to look promising but the only one of the models is forecasting any decent rain totals during that time frame. Speaking of the “Climate Prediction Center”, I have their latest guesses for February and seasonal forecasts for February-May below.

The entire northern hemisphere will be watching “San Antonio Sam”, the armadillo, tomorrow morning at the Riverwalk to see if he sees his shadow! I’ll have a special post around 8am. As we all know, sometimes rodents and New World placental mammals do a better job predicting weather than the professionals!
