A cool day out there, but at least the sun is out and we are not in north Texas or even worse, the northeaster part of the country, where temperatures are still below freezing. Speaking of freezing, there is a freeze warning in effect for south Texas tonight. Temps will drop into the 20’s for most of us, with a few teens likely in the Hill Country. The arctic air moves out by tomorrow and by Tuesday we will be back in the 70’s ahead of a dry, seasonal front that moves through on Wednesday.

Rain chances have gone poof in the short term, but the models are starting to look more bullish for rain around the 10th of February and the latest CPC outlooks concur. As far as another batch of arctic air goes, only the GFS model thinks that is possible around Valentine’s Day…way too far out to start worrying about that as of today!
