While rain chances aren’t great, they are still in the forecast. Here’s the latest from the NWS: “The upper-level ridge will continue to shift westward mid week and position itself over the Southwestern U.S, thus opening the door for a series of disturbances to track southward across the area. This will provide us with a brief stint of northwest flow aloft and the possibility for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms Thursday, and perhaps again on Friday. Any convection that does manage to develop will likely be high-based and would pose a gusty wind threat in any of the stronger cells.”
Meanwhile, continued hot for the next 7-10 days. I’m not seeing any early season cool front on the horizon, but high pressure may eventually erode around the 6th or 7th of September, increasing our rain odds and tempering our temperatures a bit. Our wave has turned into 96L out in the Atlantic. I am including the latest spaghetti models and update from the NHC.

Eastern Tropical Atlantic (AL96):
Showers and thunderstorms associated with an area of low pressure
centered a few hundred miles south-southeast of the Cabo Verde
Islands have changed little in organization over the past several
hours. However, environmental conditions appear conducive for
gradual development, and this system is likely to become a tropical
depression during the next day or two while it moves westward to
west-northwestward across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic.
Environmental conditions could become less conducive for development
by the weekend.
