I’m back from my whirlwind trip from New York and going over the latest drought information released today…no surprise, our drought is getting worse! While it has been nice to see that a few of you lucked into some scattered poppers this week, for most of you, this has been a very dry 9 days so far for October. The frustrating part of all of this is how tropical activity from the Atlantic has been a complete zip, zero nada this year for the Gulf and even Pacific storms that normally send their moisture into Texas by now, are instead sending it to the SW. While we really need the moisture in the SW, the unrelenting jet stream won’t budge even slightly to allow even a little of rain to drift into south Texas.

Below are the latest details on the drought, plus runs from the GFS and Euro models. The Euro is trying to give us some hope for a pattern change around the 24th, but the GFS says more of the same.
