Wow! Finally a rain event that one would expect in May! The HRRR short range model really nailed it as storms developed in the northern Hill Country and moved south. Unfortunately, there were reports of large hail and some high winds that came with the rain totals.

Another round of storms will develop over Mexico this afternoon and move east tonight, giving some of our far western counties that did not see much rain, a chance for better totals this time around. I'll have a post on that later this afternoon.

My rain gauge in Helotes (NW of San Antonio) recorded just over two inches of rain, along with some golf ball size hail. How much fell at your place and where.
