Wimpy rain chances until Friday...

A few locations in our western counties and along the border saw some scattered storms yesterday evening and those same counties will see another chance this evening as well. For the rest of us, look for scattered storms on Wednesday and Thursday from our low pressure out west, but rain totals will be wimpy. The bigger rain trigger will come Friday as a cool front drifts down into the state, then goes stationary for the weekend. Most of the models are forecasting 1/2 to 2 inches of rain for south-central and south Texas, with the higher totals in the Hill Country and western counties.

Even better rain odds enter the picture for the week of the 5th-9th, with most of the models forecasting an additional 1-3 inches during that time period. As of today, May continues to look wet, especially for the first two weeks!

24hr rainfall totals, as of this morning.

The latest HRRR model is forecasting some storms dotting the western counties again later this evening.

Our low pressure will dip SE, then move NE over the next 24hrs.

Best odds for severe weather will be to our north tomorrow.

A front that will go stationary on Friday will be our rain trigger from Friday through the weekend.
