A chance for border storms today, then rain chances for the rest of us Tuesday night through the 9th of May!

There have been a few random cells today in the SW counties...A NWS sensor in Crystal City recorded 0.39 inches of rain. Storms will develop in the northern mountains of Mexico later this afternoon, then make a run for the border this evening. Best odds are in and around Del Rio and possibly as far east as Rocksprings and Brackettville and as far south as Laredo.

As a low pressure out in the west nears us on Wednesday and Thursday, we will see increased odds for scattered afternoon storms. Unfortunately, this low will dive SE into New Mexico, then quickly turn to the NE...sound familiar? Our better odds for rain this week arrive on Friday, with the passage of a cool front that will eventually go stationary over south Texas, extending our rain chances through the weekend. By next week, a stronger low will move though the SW, giving us potentially better chances for rain.
