There were a couple of storms in south Texas this morning, but for the most part, all of the activity has been confined to east Texas, where a Tornado Watch has been issued until 8pm. A few of our NE counties could see some severe storms tonight as they receive a glancing blow from this system. For the rest of us, a few scattered storms will develop this afternoon and evening, but most of us will see a rain-free evening.

Thursday will see even less activity, (although any could be severe), as we wait for our best rain-trigger in the form of a cool front, to move south on Friday. Best odds for rain this week will be Friday and Saturday as the front goes stationary in south Texas, keeping the atmosphere primed for more storms.

A low pressure is forecast to move into our area from Mexico early next week, giving us another good chance for rain. The latest CPC outlooks continue our better than 50/50 odds for above average rainfall through at least mid-May. With May being one of our wettest months of the year, that could be a really good thing!
