Another hot and humid early July day out there with showers and thunderstorms limited to far south Texas, where a disturbance in the Gulf is slowly moving north. This disturbance will move into south Texas tomorrow, increasing rain odds for Friday through the weekend. As high pressure moves out of Texas and into the northern plains early next week, our rain window will open up through Wednesday, with Monday and Tuesday likely to be the best days for seeing rain. Rain comes to an end by Thursday and could be replaced by a hefty cloud of Saharan dust…we will have updates on that later. As is often the case in our area in the summer, storms will be scattered and potentially heavy with tropical moisture. While there will be rain lottery winners and losers, the latest models are forecasting a high percentage of our area to receive 1-4 inches by Wednesday of next week…fingers crossed!
