From the CPC: El Niño strengthened over the past month, with a large area of sea surface temperature anomalies in excess of +1.0°C across the central and eastern equatorial Pacific. El Niño continues and will strengthen through the end of the year, with a 97% chance it will persist through early spring 2027. An El Nino Advisory remains in effect.

Remember that El Niño patterns generally impact our weather mostly during the fall and winter months. During the summer, we will likely see less tropical activity in the Atlantic than normal and so far, that has been the case.
