I was pleasantly surprised to see some storms form over our far western counties last night. Brackettville won the rain lottery recording 1.39 inches!

Thanks to an upper level trough traveling westward from Florida, rain odds will be on in the increase Friday through Saturday. Unfortunately, the heavier totals will fall in the Gulf, which the last time I checked only had boats and offshore oil platforms, which aren’t big fans of heavy rain! The latest models do show a decent chance for rain along the coast and the coastal plains. For the rest of us, just some wildly scattered pm poppers. FYI: The NHC thinks there is a 10% chance this trough could turn into a tropical depression before moving onshore this week…I’m not going to any casino with those odds!

After the trough moves into south Texas I don’t see much in the way of rain through next week. The models are looking a little more wet during the first week of August…we shall see!

The NWS just released a report on the June 11-12th flood event in San Antonio. Here is a link to the report: San Antonio Heavy Rain and Flood Event on June 11-12, 2025

An upper level trough will move across the Gulf over the next few days. There is a 90% it won't turn into anything tropical.

A slight chance for excessive rain on Friday-Saturday in the green zone.
