Despite almost zero odds for rain today, there are a few very scattered poppers roaming around, thanks to abundant humidity and the afternoon sea breeze. As of post time, radar is indicating some showers near Austin and a small thunderstorm south of Yorktown. Movement is north and we could see a few additional poppers this afternoon.

Next week starts out hot, humid and rainless, but by the end of the week we will be watching the Gulf as most of the models are now forecasting some kind of low pressure to develop around Thursday or Friday. Where it goes and how strong it gets is yet to be determined, but at least it’s nice to see a chance for rain. There is a tropical wave way out in the Atlantic, but it’s supposed to encounter some unfavorable conditions for growth in the short term.
