The HRRR model did a great job yesterday forecasting the storms that moved into the Hill Country early this morning, then going poof along HWY 90. I was amazed that some locations in Kendall and Gillespie counties measured over 3 inches and there was some localized flooding!

A dying cool front is currently on a Del Rio to San Antonio to College Station line. This will potentially spark a few pm poppers in this area, with best coverage to the east of San Antonio. By tomorrow, our ever popular Hell High moves in from Mexico, boosting our highs into the 100’s over the weekend. Fortunately, the high slides back into Mexico (good riddance!) on Monday allowing our upper-level winds to switch into the NW. This is always a great pattern for us get more rain from storms that form in north Texas, then drift southward during the night. Rain odds look decent for most of next week and could continue into the following week as well!
