What a difference a day makes! Yesterday we saw 70’s and 80’s on the map and today most of us are in the 40’s and 50’s and with some wind added in, it feels even chillier. Speaking of wind, there were wind gusts reported over 50mph in San Antonio, New Braunfels and Corpus early this morning. There have also been a few light showers around, but most locations have recorded only a few hundredths of an inch. Out in west Texas there is snow falling as far east as Midland as of post time.
With the clouds not parting tonight, freezing temperatures will be limited to only the far northern counties of the Hill Country, but as clouds part tomorrow, there could be widespread lows in the lower 30’s and upper 20’s in south-central Texas. The northern and rural valleys of south Texas need to also prepare for a possible freeze as well on Wednesday morning. By Friday, the heat high parks itself over us and we’re back to 80’s again for highs!
Other than the spotty showers we are seeing today, rain chances decrease to nearly zero again over the next 7 days. The CPC 8-12 day outlook is forecasting better than even odds for above normal precipitation during that time frame…we shall see.
