Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

A RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE OF 29 DEGREES WAS SET AT AUSTIN BERGSTROM TODAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 30 DEGREES SET IN 2005. This sums up our morning with many locations in the Hill Country dropping into the upper 20’s and low 30’s. I hope none of you were taken by surprise and hopefully your plants didn’t get nuked overnight! Based on everything that I am seeing in the models, there isn’t another surprise cold outbreak heading our way through the end of March.

We start a gradual warm up today and by Friday we’ll be back into the 90’s again. Look for a very warm weekend with highs in the mid 90’s for most of us and some 100’s in our SW counties. With the Hell High positioned over the west, rain odds are zero for at least the next 7 days. Long-range models are starting to look more promising for the last few days of March and the first week of April as the Hell High breaks down. I have posted a few 45day outlooks for some of our locations and all are predicting 1-3 inches of rain for next month.
