Lots of info to read from the latest greatest Arctic Front update from the NWS. It’s a complicated forecast since everything depends on how quickly we drop below freezing when the front moves through late on Friday. In the past, I have seen the models struggle with arctic fronts (they usually under-estimate their strength) and temperatures drop more quickly than forecast. To be on the safe side, I would recommend planning on not getting on the roads from late Friday through most of the weekend if you are anywhere along and north of HWY 90 to I-10 East unless you just have to. For those of you to the south of San Antonio, I would pay close attention to the updates, because the northern counties of south Texas could also be impacted.
