As I had mentioned a couple of days ago, there would be rain lottery winners and losers, and that’s exactly what we’ve seen. Some lucky people have seen 2-3 inches, while some have seen zip, zero…nada! Fortunately, we did see some rain in Medina county, which is still suffering from “Exceptional” drought conditions. Here is a link from the NWS for 24hr rainfall totals in south-central Texas. I have included 48hr rainfall totals from TexMesonet.org for other locations. IEM :: PNS from NWS EWX

High pressure will continue to reside to our west, leaving us with chances for rain every day over the next week. We will see another front take a dive into Texas later next week. Storms will be scattered and random, so again, not drought breaking, but every drop helps! The latest CPC outlooks favor better than 50/50 odds for above normal rainfall over the next two weeks.

Nothing posing a threat from the tropics, and with early season fronts starting to make an appearance, the odds are looking lower as anything coming this direction will be steered off to our NE. This could change, though…
