Best rain odds from today through Monday will stay in south Texas and the LRG as an old front sparks scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. While south-central Texas could still see some action as well, their best odds for rain this week will be Tuesday and Wednesday, as yet another cool front moves far enough south to produce scattered storms on those days. We may see more chances for rain during Labor Day weekend as yet another front moves into Texas during that time. Any of the storms can produce locally heavy rain if they happen to drift over your backyard, but they will continue to be very scattered.

Looking at the tropics, 99L only has a 20% chance of becoming a tropical something in the next week as it encounters unfavorable conditions for development. The latest spaghetti models show a slight chance for the low pressure to end up in the Gulf if it doesn’t go poof, so we will continue to monitor it.

Have a great rest of your Saturday!
