While there were a few of you who saw less than average rainfall for May, the majority of us saw average to above average rainfall. I’m hoping that our next drought update on Thursday will show less intense red for a change! Below are some graphics for May and the latest CPC forecast for June.
Unless things change, this will be a mainly a hot and humid week, with very little chance for rain. All of the activity will be locked up in north Texas, with only a few spots in south-central Texas possibly seeing some activity in the far eastern, western and northern counties.
We could see a more active pattern in about ten days, but that’s pretty far out to get excited yet. Speaking of excitement, please don’t get riled up if you are seeing other pages hyping a possible hurricane in the Gulf around the 12th! Only the GFS model thinks one will form and even if so, will likely stay to our east. I’ll certainly keep checking the tropics…

There is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for counties to our NE this afternoon.
