Weather scraps this week as all of our rainmakers stay in north Texas and Oklahoma. The first low pressure is moving into western CO from AZ, dropping some much needed rain for the SW. This system will move NE and have little to no impact on our weather. A dying cool front will drop into north Texas tomorrow, creating a squall line that might enter the northern Hill Country tomorrow night and early Wednesday, but the latest models are forecasting that system to go poof around Junction. By Thursday, a second low takes the same path as the first low (great for Colorado and north Texas), keeping all of the activity to our north, once again. About the only thing I can guarantee is heat and humidity this week and a few PM poppers near the coast. By the weekend we could find ourselves seeing triple digits again for highs. There is a batch of Saharan dust heading towards the USA, but as of post time, it looks like it will mainly choke the poor folks in Florida, instead of us!

Looking further down the weather road, the latest long-range models are still bullish for a wet June…we shall see! The GFS model continues to predict a tropical storm or hurricane in the Gulf by the 12th, potentially impacting Texas as of the latest model run. Until I see the other models agreeing, I’m still thinking the model has had too much to drink!
