Just when it looked fairly straightforward yesterday, next week’s forecast is getting blurry. While most of the models are still forecasting a decent rain event, the Euro wants to delay the event until the 28th-30th, while the GFS and NBM want to make it happen from the 23rd-25th. The good news is that the models are predicting a front and disturbance to move through at some point in the next 10 days. As we move through this week, hopefully we will begin to have a better idea.

In the short term, more scattered poppers over the next couple of days. Some of you along the coastal plains did well yesterday, with 1.41 inches in Goliad County and 0.45 inches in Karnes County. Scattered rain chances will continue through the weekend for south Texas but now it does not look like it will include south-central Texas.

92L is likely to become Tropical Storm Gabrielle (90% chance) over the next few days and there is another wave further east with a 20% chance of becoming a storm over the next week. Neither of them pose a threat to Texas as of post time.
