The models are confused!

There are still a lot of questions about next week’s weather. While it still looks promising that we will see increased rain odds Monday through Wednesday, just how much and where it ends up falling is still up for debate. The Euro has moved the best rain into the coastal plains and south Texas, the GFS has almost eliminated any rain and the NBM is nudging it to the east! It looks like we will just have to wait a few more days to see if this potential rain event even happens. Even if it does pan out, rain totals are not going to be impressive, based on the latest model runs.

Meanwhile in the tropics, Gabrielle will eventually turn into a hurricane over the next three days, but will do a boomerang move to the NE as she does so. There is a 20% chance that a wave off of Africa may do something over the next week, but it’s ridiculously far away from us at the moment! The northern Pacific and the Gulf are both setting high surface temperature records at the moment. Both situations may impact our weather in the upcoming months, with the Pacific warmth sometimes sending Polar Vortexes our way and the Gulf potentially creating a mega-hurricane if one were to form this fall.
