A small inverted trough is bringing some sea breeze storms inland as I work on this post. The best odds for rain will be in the Houston area but some of these poppers will make it as far west as the coastal plains and our eastern counties during the afternoon. There could be a few tomorrow afternoon before high pressure clamps down on our area, leaving us dry for the next 7-10 days or more.

We continue to watch the tropics for any potential storms. As of post time, one wave has a 60% chance of becoming a tropical something over the next week. From the NHC: “An area of low pressure located a few hundred miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands is producing a large area of showers and
thunderstorms. As this low moves slowly westward, a tropical wave emerging off the coast of west Africa is expected to interact with the system in a couple of days. Environmental conditions are forecast to be more conducive for development by mid-week, and a tropical depression could form during the latter half of this week while the system moves westward to west-northwestward across the central tropical Atlantic.
