For a week that was supposed to have been relatively dry, our pm poppers have delivered some decent rainfall totals for some of you, especially east of HWY 281 and I-35 south. The big winner of the week was Victoria County, where over 5 inches of rain fell. We will see fewer scattered sea breeze storms over the next few days, mainly limited to the southern coastal plains and along the coast.
Thanks in part to our upcoming Saharan Dust event, we won’t be seeing much rain over the next week. More typically dry July conditions will prevail in the short term.
I found something to look at on the latest NHC update this morning, but the potential system only has a 20% of forming in the Bay of Campeche (southern Gulf) before moving into Mexico next week.
Have a great Friday!
