Rain focus is now in south Texas. Front is on a HWY-90 to I-10 east line as of post time.
So far the models have gotten it pretty correct with the “Leapfrog” forecast, where storms would move into the Hill Country, weaken, then form along a Hwy90-I-10 East line and that is the case, as of post time. From the NWS: “Locally heavy rainfall possible this afternoon into tonight mainly from the coastal plains westward into portions of the Rio Grande plains.” While south-central Texas could see some more rain this afternoon and evening, the best odds will be in south Texas. The latest Excessive Rainfall forecast does a good job showing those areas in yellow on their latest forecast graphics included below. FYI: some of the storms could go severe, with wind as the primary threat…make sure your trampolines are secured!
As always, please let us know how much rain falls at your place and where!
