While everyone needs rain right now, it was great to see most of south Texas finding something in their rain gauge this morning! There were several totals over 3 inches in McMullen, Goliad, Duval and Refugio counties, but the highest totals from this rain event were 6.77 inches in Port Aransas and 5 inches in Laredo! The front has completely moved through the state now, pushing rain and humidity out of our area. Look for a taste of fall for the next couple of mornings with lows in the 50’s for spots in the Hill Country and 60’s for the rest of the area. Highs will end up in the upper 80’s and low 90’s, but with low humidity it will feel pretty nice out there through early next week!

The tropics are certainly lighting up, with one system that should become a storm soon and two others that already are. Although it has happened in the past, it is very rare for a hurricane or tropical storm to hit Europe, but Hurricane Gabrielle is forecast to strike Portugal as a tropical storm on Sunday. 94L bears watching for the southeast coast, as latest model runs are forecasting a chance for it to move into the Carolinas next week. Nothing is in the forecast for Texas.
