Tropical storm Edouard is moving inland.
9-1-26. 3pm. Tropical storm Edouard is now moving inland and will drop some heavy rain totals over SE Texas before going “poof” tomorrow. The pool of tropical air will linger over east Texas through Saturday and could bring us some scattered PM poppers on Thursday and Friday.
Looking further down the weather road, the latest CPC outlooks, including September are now showing equal odds for above or below normal rainfall. This is an improvement over the past couple of weeks when the outlooks were showing better than 50/50 odds for below normal precipitation. With September being one of our rainier months, I’m sure we would all be happy with average precipitation! The latest GFS model is now predicting our first cool front to arrive around the middle of the month, along with a decent rain event. I’ll keep an eye on this model and fingers crossed that it doesn’t change its mind!
