A cool and breezy day out there with wind gusts over 20mph this afternoon. With dew points in the teens and twenties, look for temperatures to drop quickly after sunset. While most locations will see lows in the 30’s and 40’s, if you live in a rural valley or the Hill Country, I would cover or bring in your frost sensitive plants tonight to be on the safe side, as there could be some sub-freezing zones overnight.

Another seasonal day tomorrow with highs mainly in the 60’s before we start warming up on Tuesday as a low pressure over the panhandle will switch our winds into the SW. Look for desert like highs of upper 80’s and some 90’s on Wednesday and Thursday before a backdoor front slips in late on Thursday. Despite the cool front, temps rebound into the 80’s through the weekend.

No surprise, rain is not expected for the next seven days. Beyond this week, the latest CPC outlooks are bullish for better than 50/50 odds for above normal precipitation in early March. The latest Euro run is forecasting a major rain event around the 8th, but as usual, let’s let another week go by before we get too excited.
