I’m happy to announce that we had some rain lottery winners overnight as the cold front moved through. Unfortunately, the rain was primarily confined to a few counties….but still good to see some of you recorded some rain totals over an inch. The biggest winner I see was Rosanky in Bastrop County with 5.84 inches, but New Berlin recorded 3.11 inches and China Grove with 2.88 inches. For more totals, here is a link from the NWS: IEM :: PNS from NWS EWX

From the NWS: “On Monday, a shortwave trough embedded in the subtropical jet is forecast to move into our area, leading to an increase in rain chances for mainly the Coastal Plains as a coastal low develops offshore. Most rain will be light to moderate with a possible isolated rumble of thunder.” As of post time, this will mainly be a light rain event.

Temperatures will remain chilly most of the week, but the coldest night will be Tuesday morning as skies clear out for a day. There could be some freezes in the Hill Country, but for now, most locations will only drop into the upper 30’s and 40’s. Highs will stay in the 50’s and 60’s for most of our area all week.

Rain odds will be on the increase starting on Wednesday night and Thursday as another front moves through, then gets overridden with Pacific moisture, thanks to the subtropical jet stream!

Stay warm!
