An upper-level low in the Gulf to the south of Louisiana and Mississippi, could throw some extra moisture into south Texas today through the weekend, increasing rain chances along the coast and into the coastal plains. There is a tiny chance that a couple of sea breeze storms might go as far north as HWY 90, but I think your odds of winning big in Vegas are greater!
Looking further down the road, a front in north Texas and some extra moisture near the Bay of Campeche could increase our rain odds a little next week, but neither of these features will produce what I call, a decent rain event. There is now a 40% chance for a tropical something to form in the Atlantic over the next 7 days, but steering patterns will likely kick this storm eventually to the NE.
