A combination of a trough to our west, and disturbances moving through Texas, will give us daily rain chances for the next week and possibly longer. The best odds for rain for south Texas will be from Thursday-Saturday, then the rains shift to the north, giving south-central Texas their best chances from Saturday-Tuesday. While there will be a chance for severe storms during the next 7 days, the greatest threat will come on Saturday afternoon, (NW counties) and Sunday, (Hill Country and Austin). As is the case for most of the year for us, this will be a convective system, so storms will be scattered throughout the period. I would not pay too much attention to specific rainfall totals on the model forecasts…just be happy that we will all have a chance for rain for an entire week!
