If you are looking for rain and cooler temperatures, head west to far west Texas, New Mexico and Colorado this week as monsoon flow is firing up some decent storms. Unfortunately, high pressure has moved into most of Texas, putting a damper on our rain odds for most of this week. As we head towards the end of the week, a rare July cool front will move into NE Texas, firing up some storms for that area. If the front moves a little further south, we could see some activity in the NE counties of south central Texas on Saturday and Sunday. At this time the odds are low, but models often struggle with summer fronts and the outflows from storms that develop along the frontal boundaries.

As far as the tropics go, it continues to be very quiet in the Atlantic, Caribbean and the Gulf with 0% chance of anything forming over the next 7 days.
