An interesting 36hrs ahead with furnace weather this afternoon (more record highs), windy and mild weather on Sunday, then potential freezes on Monday morning. The front is currently located in NW Texas but will pick up some speed later this afternoon and should be arriving around midnight in San Antonio and far south Texas by Sunday morning. Winds will be gusting to over 30mph and there are Red Flag warnings for most of our area…details below from the NWS.
If you live in the Hill Country and other low lying areas, I’d plan on getting out some covers for any veggies or frost sensitive plants on Monday and Tuesday morning. I would not be surprised to see some Freeze Warnings issued by the NWS on Sunday for both of those days. As I have mentioned in the past couple of days, we are getting the southern and eastern edge of an arctic front…temps on Monday morning will end up in the teens for many locations in the plains!
Still no chances for rain in the next 7days, but models continue to look more bullish as we enter the 3rd week of the month. The latest CPC outlook below, indicates those odds getting better.
