Freeze Warning in effect for the Hill Country.

After some record highs over the past couple of days, winds gusting to 30-40mph today (A Red Flag Warning continues in effect until 9pm.), why not a possible freeze for tomorrow morning for the Hill Country? Once the winds finally settle down, look for temperatures to drop quickly with dew points currently running in the 20’s. While the Hill Country is the only part of our area that is in a freeze warning, if you live in a low lying rural valley, I’d bring in our cover any tender vegetation over the next two nights. I’ve seen early freezes in rural south Texas when they were not forecast have have one.

Another chance for freezing temps on Tuesday morning, then we start heating back up to the 80’s for highs and 60’s for lows by the end of the week. Our next front arrives late in the weekend, then a possible pattern change towards wetter weather. The latest 6-12 and 8-14 day CPC outlooks are giving us better than even odds for above normal precipitation during that period!
