A taste of Seattle, then turning milder…

A cloudy day out there with a few light showers on the radar. As we move into the evening, rain odds pick up as a disturbance moves through from Mexico, giving us a chance for additional showers and even a few scattered thunderstorms. We warm up into the 70’s tomorrow and possibly see some sunshine before our much advertised strong front moves through tomorrow night. I have included a temperature forecast animation below. You will certainly not miss our next from as it blows through, with wind gusts out of the NE to 35mph throughout the day on Sunday. Overriding moisture from the Pacific moves in Sunday night and Monday, so we will feel a lot more like Seattle than South Texas with lows in the 40’s and highs in 50’s along with some light cold rain. As of post time, ice is not in the forecast, but we will need to keep an eye on Hill Country temps Sunday night. We clear out Monday afternoon with another shot of cold air, so Tuesday morning will be our best chance for a widespread freeze if the clouds actually do move out.

Winds shift back to the SE by Tuesday and we will start a slow rebound from our brush with winter. As temperatures rise back into the 60’s for highs, rain chances once again return by the end of next week.
