Yet another warm and dry day across our region as our perm-high continues to keep any chance for a pattern change away. Part of the reason the SW is getting so much rain right now is because with a low over California and the high over Texas, there is only one place for the moisture to go, and that’s over the SW, where ongoing flooding has been an issue this week. A wimpy front over the weekend my stir up a few showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, but the best odds and rain coverage will likely stay to our east and in very deep south Texas. Later in the week, there are still a couple of models that are forecasting a trough to develop over us, ushering in our first decent front along with a chance for rain. I’m hoping to see more consistency with the models as we move through the week.
