A little dust and a pause in the rain through Friday.

It’s been a while since I’ve started my post and not seen anything on radar! Dry air aloft is moving through the state from the NE and along with moderate Saharan dust, is squelching our pm poppers today and likely Friday as well. Rain odds increase over the weekend as a mid-level disturbance moves into our area from Mexico. We will have to watch this system, because even though the models are not too impressed, the NWS does put our northern counties in the “Yellow or Slight” chance for excessive rain. Given all of the flooding that has occurred in the Hill Country, it won’t take much rain to cause additional flood concerns. By Monday, high pressure builds back over our area and rain chances drop to nearly zero for at least a week.
Below are the latest graphics for drought and lake levels. We’ve seen some decent improvement in the past 30 days…unfortunately it came with a hefty price of loss of lives and property.
