I was so happy to see some decent rainfall totals from last night's storms that fired up along the west Texas dryline! While we will see a repeat performance in thunderstorm activity out west, the odds are less today that these storms will reach our area due to last night's storms stabilizing our atmosphere a bit. The exception will be in and around Del Rio, where the latest model runs are forecasting some storms to move into that area from Mexico later this evening. While there still is a chance that the West Texas storms hold together and impact south-central and south Texas tonight, the best odds will actually be from home-grown scattered storms this afternoon. In fact, we are already seeing some of these storms on radar as I work on this post.
More chances for rain and storms on Thursday and Friday, then our rain window closes for the weekend, only to re-open next week. We will dive into that tomorrow, but the odds look very promising as of now!
