Two more hot days, then some relief!

Unseasonably warm temperatures will continue to plague our region for two more days until we finally get a decent cold front that will actually drop our temps to below normal from Monday-Wednesday of next week. Until then, look for highs in the 80’s and warm, cloudy mornings in the 60’s. As of post time, it looks like our strong front should move through the northern counties around 8-9pm, San Antonio around 10-11pm and southern counties after midnight. There is a chance for some thunderstorms along the front, with the best odds being in south Texas. Even so, if you find a tenth of an inch of rain in your gauge, consider yourself lucky! If you are traveling in West Texas, be on the lookout for snow on Monday!

While I’m not finding any arctic air in the latest long-range forecasts, I continue to see hints for a pattern change around the 7th of January, with most models predicting a couple of decent rain events as we move towards the middle of January….more on that in the next few days!
