So, the good news is that our temperatures have dropped a little from where they were a couple of days ago…the bad news is that we now have Saran Wrap weather with heat indexes between 105 and 110 degrees for many locations this afternoon! Tomorrow will be equally as sweaty, but we could see some storms form in Mexico, then cross the border in the afternoon, thanks to a dryline to our west. While the odds are slim, the latest HRRR short-range model is quite bullish on our western and southwestern counties getting in on the action. If the storms hold together, they could go as far east as San Antonio.
Looking further down the line, we get some heat relief next Wednesday as a “Not so Hot” front moves through, knocking down our humidity and high temperatures closer to seasonal levels. The GFS and Euro are hinting of a potential rain even the last few days of the month…I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this pans out, since May is supposed to be one of our wetter months of the year.
