Hard to believe we are already in the month of March! While it will continue to feel more like April with highs in the 80’s, it’s great to see a potential end to our dry weather by the middle of the week, thanks to a couple of dying fronts, SW flow from the Pacific, and a cut off low over Baja. Rain chances enter the forecast by late on Tuesday, increase on Wednesday, wane a bit on Thursday and Friday, then increase dramatically over the weekend. As of today, most of the models are predicting 1-3 inches for most of us with a few pockets of 4-7 inch totals from the 5th-11th. As we get further into the week, we should be able to get a better idea of the actual totals, but this certainly smells like a real rain event!
Still no signs of a March arctic outbreak, but we could see some decent fronts move down around the middle of the month. The latest CPC outlook has temperatures returning to normal in its 8-14 day forecast…something we haven’t seen in a while!
