The good news is that the typical summer high pressure over us will loosen its grip and allow PM Poppers to form almost daily from at least Tuesday-Friday. The bad news is that these will be scattered and random so it’s hard to know how much rain will fall on your backyard during that time period. Here’s what the NWS is saying: “Tuesday the ridge will begin to break down. Deeper moisture will surge into the region increasing PW values. The increased moisture and the weakening subsidence will allow showers and thunderstorms to form during the afternoon and evening starting Tuesday and then each afternoon and evening through Friday. This pattern is looking very summer-like. It should be ordinary convection with only moderate rainfall and wind gusts.”

As has been the case for over a month now, the latest CPC outlooks continue to show better than 50-50 odds for above normal precipitation through the middle of June!
